Zero data collectionThe short version: Snapz does not collect, store, transmit, or share any of your data. Your screenshots never leave your device. There are no servers, no analytics, no tracking, and no accounts.
Snapz is a Chrome browser extension that captures screenshots of browser tabs, provides editing and annotation tools, and exports the final image. All processing happens entirely within your browser on your local device.
None. Snapz collects no personal data, usage data, analytics, telemetry, or any other information of any kind. There is no backend server. The extension makes zero network requests.
When you capture a screenshot with Snapz, the image is temporarily stored in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local) solely to pass it from the capture step to the editor. This data exists only on your device, is never transmitted anywhere, and is overwritten with each new capture. Snapz has no ability to access, read, or transmit your screenshots to any external service.
Snapz requests the minimum permissions required to function. Here is what each permission does and why it is needed:
Snapz uses no third-party services, APIs, SDKs, analytics platforms, crash reporters, or advertising networks. There are no external dependencies that transmit data.
Snapz does not use cookies, local tracking, fingerprinting, or any other tracking mechanism.
Snapz does not collect any data from anyone, including children. Since no personal information is collected, there are no age-related concerns.
If we ever change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Any material changes (such as introducing data collection) would be communicated through the Chrome Web Store update notes. As of today, Snapz has never collected data and has no plans to do so.
Snapz is open source. You can inspect the complete source code on GitHub to verify that no data is collected or transmitted.
